Pauline M. Probst

Pauline M. Probst, 87, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at her home in rural Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the church with a 3:30 p.m. C.C.W. rosary and a 7:00 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help or the Franciscan Missionary Union. Pauline was born on June 1, 1925 in Effingham, the daughter of Aloysius and Frances (Willenborg) Haarmann. She married Eugene A. Probst on May 20, 1950. He and Pauline have lived on their rural Effingham farm for over 62 years. Pauline was a member of the St. Isidore Parish, St. Isidore Council of Catholic Women and the Third Order of Franciscans in Teutopolis.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Eugene of rural Effingham; three sons, Frank (Darcilene) of Santarem, Brazil, South America, Earl (Mary Jo) of Dieterich and Steve of Effingham; four daughters, Sister Connie Probst OSF, Franciscan Sister of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of St. Louis, MO, Margie (Tom) Deters of Sigel, Donna (Bob) Lueken of Effingham and Carol Jean (Bruce) Bueker of Sigel; twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy (Eugene) Westendorf and Verena Kemme; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Haarman, Stella Probst, Adeline Probst and Theresa Probst; brother-in-law, Francis Wente.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, James E. Bueker; siblings, Albert, Aloys, Laura Haarmann and Florence Goldstein.
